The equipment is utilized in various ways but is especially for building strength and assisting in precise and beautiful performance on the Mat. Sometimes we say, "the Mat is the Method." Mat work is the entry into Pilates for many participants and clubs. It includes numerous exercises of varying difficulty and progression.
